Abstract

Adverse skin reactions have been reported with transdermal estradiol therapy, the incidence varying in literature from 2% to)25%, depending on the transdermal system, climatic conditions and w x individual sensitivity 1]4 . A prospective study of 6 months’ duration was undertaken to collect data from a sizeable cohort of women to establish the incidence and severity of skin intolerance with continuous therapy with a reservoir patch, and to determine the influence of temperature and humidity on skin reactions in menopausal women in Western India, where the temperature ranges from 208 to 308C, and the humidity from 55% to 90%.
