Abstract

Over the past decade, considerable material on dermatoses accompanied by carbohydrate, lipid and the other types of metabolic disorders has been accumulated. The review provides information on dermatoses encountered in this group of patients; the clinical manifestations are discussed as well as the treatment options. Both frequent dermatoses (diabetic dermopathy, necrobiosis lipoidica, candidiasis and mycoses pedis, acanthosis nigricans) and rarely diagnosed ones (acquired perforating dermatosis, diabetic blisters) are considered. The emphasis is laid on dermatoses suggesting carbohydrate metabolism disorders.
