Abstract

The 4th International Skin Integrity and Infection Prevention conference, hosted by the Journal of Wound Care and the University of Huddersfield in Las Vegas, included a series of sponsored symposia. This is the third in our series of reports on the key points of the symposia, which outlined the effects of hypoxia on wound healing, and how reduced oxygen levels can lead to chronic, non-healing wounds. The speaker, Mark Niederauer, explained what can be done to combat low oxygen levels using a new continuous diffusion of oxygen (CDO) device.
