Abstract

A patch-type antenna with size reduction and broader bandwidth is developed for RFID applications. The new feeding structure utilizes a meanderline structure, which is sandwiched between the ground and radiator. The structure allows one to excite a better field distribution within the cavity formed by the ground and radiator, and results in a better antenna performance. Numerical and experimental results are shown to demonstrate the characteristics. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 56:918–920, 2014
