Abstract
A review of the diffusion of alkali ions in AgCl and AgBr indicates that in addition to the nonlinear temperature dependence of g f, g b and g m also varies nonlinearly with temperature. For Cs +, the recently obtained unexpected result that its diffusivity in AgCl is much larger than that in AgBr is due to the strain effects for a larger oversized solute. The correlation of the migration energy of the solutes with ionic size mismatch agrees with the trend predicted by Mullen's Theory.
