Abstract

The effect of the size of the central atom of a Lewis acid on the spectroscopic and luminescence properties of solutions based on POCl3-MClx (M = B, Al, Si, Ti, Zr, Sn, Sb), activated with Nd3+ and 235UO22+, was discovered. With a decrease in the effective ionic radius of Mx+, the half-width of the Nd3+ luminescence band decreases from ∼12 nm in POCl3-ZrCl4 solutions to 5 nm in POCl3-BCl3 solutions.
