Abstract
The present theoretical model predicts how the size dependent properties such as melting temperature, cohesive energy and Debye temperature of different nanosolids vary with particle size and shape. Using Qi model, these thermal properties of different metals such as copper, silver, gold and platinum have been analyzed for the size below 30 nm. Cohesive energy can be interpreted on the basis of surface-to-volume ratio and melting temperature can be interpreted using its linear relation with cohesive energy. Debye temperature can be analyzed using its relation with melting temperature. Result shows a drastic change in these thermal properties. This theoretical result may consistent with previous experimental values.
