For those who are unfamiliar with the structure of Congress government I should like to explain here that the “International Committee” is the responsible governing Council of the Congress. Each country with a Radiological Society is entitled to appoint five delegates to that body. Dr. McLaren, as Secretary-General, will report briefly to you the decisions which were made. The International Committee has two standing Sub-Committees, as set up in 1928 at the Second Congress. Each deal with matters in which it is of vital importance to us to secure and maintain international agreement on standards of various types to the greatest extent possible. There are, therefore, also reports from these two bodies. Their decisions concern matters of some considerable detail and will only be reported here in the briefest outline. The full reports will, of course, be published in due course, as they have been accepted by the International Committee and are now agreed decisions of this Congress. All previous records of the International Congresses of Radiology were lost by bombing during the last war. A new set of minute books has been presented to the Congress by British radiologists. The International Executive Committee has been constituted as follows:—Dr. Ralston Paterson, President, Great Britain.Prof. Forssell, Sweden, Past President.Prof. Schinz, Switzerland, Past President.Dr. Christie, U.S.A., Past President.Dr. J. W. McLaren, Great Britain, Secretary General.
