Abstract
Sam’s development and concluded that he needed further evaluation. Before the meeting ended, Ms. Payton restated her concerns regarding Sam’s behavior in the classroom her interest in talking about positive ways to help him. The team discussed one positive behavior strategy for the classroom teacher to implement. While waiting for evaluation results, Sam’s self-esteem plummeted. He dreaded going to school and made statements like “The teachers think I don’t know how to do anything” and “The other kids won’t play with me because I am always sitting by myself.” Sam began to dislike going to school
