Abstract

Six new species of Melastomataceae from Ecuador are described: Miconia renneri from the montane forests in north‐western Ecuador; Clidemia longipedunculata from the lowland rainforest in eastern Ecuador, and Miconia oellgaardii, Brachyotum johannes‐julii, B. russatum, and B. incrassatum from the upper montane forests and plramos in southern Ecuador.
