Abstract

A rectangular mono-pole antenna is applicable to the wireless local area network (WLAN) and worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WIMAX) applications are suggested in this paper. The rectangular mono-pole of the planned antenna is created by substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technique. The bottom rectangular patch resonates at around 5.8GHz. Reversed L-slot is depicting the antenna will operate at around 3.8GHz. At that point, with included top rectangular patch at their reverberation covering the 2.4GHz band. With the expansion of SIW strategy to this rectangular patch, change of return loss in the multiband reverberation, the antenna can cover the 2.4/5.2/5.8GHz WLAN and 2.5/3.5/5.5 GHz WIIMAX bands with an extremely minimized size of just 12.9×6.5mm2. Monopole antenna with omnidirectional radiation pattern, acceptable gain and efficiency has been obtained.
