Abstract

IntroductionIn recent decades there has been a great development of programs of secondary prevention and cardiac rehabilitation, with Andalucia which tops the list of the regions with the most number. The aim of our study was to analyze the current situation of these programs in Andalucia. MethodologyFrom first April to 30th November 2015 were identified all centers with Cardiac Rehabilitation Units and were sent a survey with 17 questions. Results16 units (72.7%) of the 22 identified responded to the cuestionary. 81% were public hospitals and 75% tertiary hospitals. In 68.8% the cardiologist was the coordinator and 18.8% had mixed coordination (cardiology and rehabilitation). 93.8% Units had a nurse, 93.8% physical therapist, 87% rehabilitation and 62 5% psychologist. The phase i carried out 50% of the Units, the phase ii 100% and phase iii 43.7%. 73.3% of units attending patients after acute coronary syndrome. In 2014 all units attended a total of 1764 patients, 84.5% were due to ischemic heart disease, 6.7% heart failure, 6% surgical coronary revascularization, 1% congenital heart disease and 1.5% valve replacement surgery. ConclusionsIn Andalucia there is a significant development of secondary prevention programs and cardiac rehabilitation, mainly in tertiary hospitals, although coverage acute coronary syndromes hospitalized was only 10%.
