Abstract

This article introduces readers to a three-stage methodological framework outlining Site Catchment Analysis (SCA). Following this introduction, the article provides readers with information on current theoretical criticisms of SCA and also briefly indicates strategies for addressing these criticisms. The placement of information on the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to automate the SCA is provided near the end of the article. This placement was intentional as a clear understanding SCA and its limitations must be understood before efforts are invested on developing such automated procedures.
