THE effects of specific nuclease digestion on the morphology of the Rous virus, as observed with the electron microscope, established recently that this agent's nucleoid contained a substantial amount of ribonucleic acid1,2; the type of nucleic acid was confirmed at the same time by cytochemical studies2.
