Abstract
ObjectivesThe aim of this study is to propose a new classification of enamel- dentin adhesives. Materials and methodsThe introduction of the universal adhesive systems to the market has made imperative a review of the current classification of adhesive strategies to hard tooth tissues. ResultsUniversal solutions can be used in “etch&rinse” mode or “self-etch” as well. ConclusionsUniversal adhesives deserve their own independent place in the dental adhesives’ current panorama, as compared to the current classification.
