Abstract

In the present study, the design thinking approach was used to observe the movements of people inside their kitchen. Their movements were recorded, and, surveys were organized for their needs in the kitchen. After the evaluation of surveys and examination of recorded videos, it was concluded that one of the items that people do not feel the lack of and that is needed in the kitchen was an automatic food mixer. In the next stage, another survey study was conducted focused on the mixing purpose and type. Thus, the expectations of the customer for the product to be designed have been determined. By following the steps of the systematic design approach, 6 different conceptual designs were obtained. Based on the technical and economic evaluation, the most appropriate design was chosen. After this step, detailed design stage was completed. Detail design stage includes necessary calculations, experimental verification and appropriate material selection.
