Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the structure for innovation in the state of Minas Gerais, mapping the institutions that act in favor of innovation in the state. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was used, a descriptive nature and, as a theoretical and operational model, it was considered the dimensions of regional innovation systems presented by Sousa Junior (2014): scientific, technological, mediation, training and business management, financing and governance. The results demonstrated how complex and diverse the mining structure for innovation with the identification of 61 institutions is. The main findings were representative of the scientific dimension; the presence of different areas; recognition of common objectives, and finally, it was emphasized the scientific research networks. It was concluded that there is a plurality of institutions, suggesting attention on interactivity in the system, because the agents act on common goals, but they act in a typical way in relation to their fields.
