Abstract

The activities carried out by the organization will certainly create and produce a lot of archives. The archive becomes a document that must be maintained and cared for. The purpose of the research are to find: (1) The system of records management in the Kecamatan Bekasi Utara Office. (2) Obstacles experienced on records management in the Kecamatan Bekasi in Kecamatan Bekasi Utara office. The method that is used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques that are used are observation, interviews and document study. The result of this study indicates that records management in the Kecamatan Bekasi Utara Office carried out in several stages, namely the creation of archives, use of archives, maintenance of archives and archive shrinkage. The storage system used is based on index and numeric. The management principle applied is centralization-decentralization. Obstacles experienced on records management are lack of available facilities and infrastructure, no special budget given, maintenance of rooms that have not used air conditioning, and a digital (computerized) management and storage system has not been implemented.
