Abstract

A fast sintering procedure at 850–885°C in air and quenching to room and LN2 temperatures have been applied for to prepare bulk samples of (Bi1−xPbx)2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+q with relatively high volume fraction of the 2223-phase and zero-resistance point up to 107–109 K. The “weak links” problem and the low critical current density Jc (below 20–30 A.cm−2 at 90 K) are discussed.
