Abstract

A singular linear quadratic (LQ) optimal control problem for a class of singular systems with time-delay is investigated. Under some general conditions, the original singular LQ problem is transformed into a nonsingular LQ problem for standard systems with time-delay. Then, by using a successive approximation approach (SAA), the optimal control law is obtained, which can be synthesized as a state feedback term and a time-delay compensation term. By choosing finite times iteration of the optimal sequence, a suboptimal control law is obtained.
