Abstract

Abstract By using a projection method for the two-time Green function a contribution to the superconducting gap equation from the three-site interaction of second order in t/U is considered. It is shown that this interaction reduces the effective coupling constant for d-wave pairing but does not cancel completely the exchange J contribution, as was shown by Hirsch. The difference is due to keeping the statistics of electron carriers in terms of Hubbard operators.
