Abstract

Singlet deuteron ( d ̷ ) effects in the (p, pn) reaction on light nuclei are studied within the framework of the dispersion theory of direct interactions. Simple analytical expressions are derived for the differential cross sections for the (p, pn) and (p, d ̷ ) reactions assuming the pole knock-out mechanism and the peripheral partial wave dominance. The results of calculations are generally in good agreement with the experimental data of Cohen et al.
