Abstract

At the present time, the requirements to reliability and continuity of power supply in electrical grids of 6 - 35 kV voltage with ungrounded neutral are continuously becoming stricter. The overhead power lines are the least reliable components of power supply systems. Early diagnosis and early elimination of damages on overhead power lines is one of the priority tasks for power supply systems. This paper reviews theoretical and practical points of using voltage and current frequency spectrum characteristics during a single-phase ground fault in a small grid of overhead power lines with ungrounded neutral.
