Single-inductor dual-output DC-DC converters with new type ramp and clock generator

Abstract

This paper presents a power management for Single-Inductor Dual-Output (SIDO) DC-DC Converters with new type ramp generator. The ramp generator can provide 0.85 MHz and 6.25 MHz. The faster frequency is utilized to reduce lock time by 72.9% in tracking mode. The proposed SIDO circuit is implemented on TSMC 0.25um 1P3M CMOS process with input supply 5V. The first outputs provide 1.2V and The second outputs provide 12V. Provide 350mA maximum current load, in order to drive ultrasonic probe head. Maximum efficiency of the boost converter is 82.6%.
