Abstract

The possibility of producing a single-frequency regime of oscillation of a He−Ne laser with a transverse shf discharge by changing the pressure of the gas mixture is investigated. A single-frequency regime of oscillation with a high radiation power (10 mW) and a low level of amplitude noise (10−5 Hz−1/2) has been produced at a pressure above 6 mm Hg. The laser power in the single-frequency regime comprises 60–80% of the power in the regime of multifrequency oscillation.
