Abstract

An iridium complex, Ir(Fppy)2(Mepic), was synthesized, and its single crystal was obtained. The single-crystal structure, thermal stability, UV–vis absorption, photoluminescence, phosphorescent lifetime and electrochemistry of Ir(Fppy)2(Mepic) were thoroughly investigated. Ir(Fppy)2(Mepic) was incorporated into OLEDs by vacuum thermal deposition technique, and the performances of these devices were studied. The continuously optimized devices, with this Ir complex doped EML, demonstrate remarkable efficiencies for the sky-blue emissive device, achieving peak EQE of 14.27 %, CE of 29.79 cd/A and luminance of 16791 cd/m2.
