Abstract
Single-component white-light phosphors for UV-LED chip excitation have attracted increasing interests due to its good color stability and high color rendering index (CRI) values in solid-state lighting and display applications. However, most of such materials are prepared in harsh conditions, such as requiring extremely high temperature calcination (>1000 °C) and reductive atmosphere generally. To deal with this problem, we herein put forward a novel way to prepare the single-component white-light materials using Eu3+, Tb3+, and DPA (DPA = 2,6-Pyridinedicarboxylic acid) co-doped Laponite® through environmentally friendly preparation method (in aqueous solution) under mild reaction conditions (low calcination temperature 550 °C and air atmosphere), which exhibits a highly pure white light with good color quality (0.33, 0.34), moderate correlated color temperature value (CCT, 5544 K) and high color-rendering index value (CRI, 93).
