Abstract
A photochemical decomposition study of NO 2(B̃ 2B 2) in specified vibronic states is reported. The O( 1D)-atom yields below and above the dissociation limit (40973 cm −1) have been measured. The role played by the rotational excitation energy and the vibrational excitation modes in promoting the predissociation is discussed.
