Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of extracapsular cataract extraction combined with single suture fixation of intraoclar lens in the treatment of subluxation of lens. Methods Retrospective case analysis. Total of 33 eyes of 30 cases with subluxation of lens were performed with extracapsular cataract exraction combined with single suture fixation of intraocular lens (IOL). The follow up time was 6 months to 2 years after surgery. The postoperative visual acuity, intraocular pressure, corneal endothelial cell density and intraocular lens position were observed. Results The visual acuity of all cases after surgery were better than those before surgery. The intraocular pressure was basically normal after surgery. The intraocular lens was in the middle. No vitreous prolapse occured, the pupil was round, and the bag without wrinkles. Conclusion Extracapsular cataract extraction and single suture fixation of intraocular lens can maintain anterior chamber, reduce vitreous prolapse, and achieve better clinical results. Key words: Lens, subluxation; Extraction, extracapsular, cataract; Fixation, intracapsular suture single
