Abstract

Sodium modified HAP was prepared in a single step using β-TCP by molten flux synthesis. Powder XRD and other spectroscopic analysis confirmed the formation of Na-containing hydroxy carbonate apatite. The resultant apatite enabled rapid condensation reaction between aromatic aldehydes and malononitrile/ethyl cyanoacetate under solvent free condition through the solid phase grinding process.
