Abstract

AbstractThe possibility of one‐stage formation of planar light‐guiding structures from photopolymerizable compositions with a neutral component by the photolithographic method is investigated. It is shown that the required profile of the refractive index in the light‐guide, which is a polymeric core surrounded by a low‐refracting damper of the same material with a higher concentration of the neutral component, can be formed due to diffusion processes stimulated by nonuniform distribution of actinic radiation intensity. The results of numerical modeling and experiments on the optical formation of stable light‐guiding 2D‐structures with a volume distribution of the refractive index in the polymer layer are presented.
