Abstract
Polarization is an intrinsic property of light. With the advancements in nanophotonics, it is now possible to achieve arbitrary polarization transformations in space. Incorporating special functions in different spatial dimensions expands the design freedom of metasurfaces and other optical devices. To understand and utilize the metasurface, we design a metasurface optical element to achieve single-shot, wide-field polarization imaging. Our demonstration exhibits a compact, full Stokes wide-field polarization imaging device without requiring conventional optical elements, such as moving parts or wide-field lens sets. Wide-field polarization imaging devices are potential candidates for machine vision and biological tissue imaging applications.
