Abstract

The single-scattering distribution of 5 GeV/ c muons was measured in nuclear emulsion. The muon tracks were followed by fast-scanning technique and thus a total of 312 single-scattering events of angle ≈ 1.4 mrad was found from 40.9 m track length. Pion contamination in the muon beam was negligible. The observed scattering distribution which extends up to 0.5° scattering angle is in good agreement with the electromagnetic theory.
