Abstract

Sample size determination in the application of (Lot Quality Assurance Sampling) LQAS for monitoring disease control programmes is a crucial component of health programmes. When resources need to be allocated to several communities/areas based on whether or not each exceeds target proportion of members with a characteristic, a sampling procedure to the different parameters estimation scenarios. This paper deals appropriate methodologies on the derivation of sample sizes and critical values when the variable/ characteristic of interest follows hypergeometic, binomial and Poisson distribution of computing single sampling plan without power.
