Abstract

We have built a system for off-axis optical scanning holography (OSH) and for the first time experimentally demonstrated the recording of a hologram without heterodyning or a spatial light modulator for temporal frequency shifting. To solve the problem of phase fluctuation, a phase monitoring module is included in the system. Single sideband filtering together with phase compensation is performed for the reconstruction without the zeroth-order light and the twin image. Properties and practical issues in the coherent-mode and incoherent-mode of off-axis OSH are also discussed.
