Abstract

In this paper, geolocation study on an aerial platform with multiple antenna structures using the angle of arrival (AOA) and frequency of arrival (FOA) informations is presented. In this study, performances of least squares estimation (LSE), angle of arrival maximum likelihood estimation (AOA MLE), angle of arrival-frequency of arrival maximum likelihood estimation (AOA-FOA MLE) methods are compared. In addition, the effect of angle of arrival error standard deviation change and frequency of arrival error standard deviation change on these estimation methods are analyzed. Throughout this study, AOA-FOA MLE method is found to be better than others.
