Abstract

Single particle energies of a Λ particle in 4ΛH(4ΛHe), 5ΛHe, 17ΛO and 41ΛCa are evaluated within the framework of the effective interaction theory by employing the Nijmegen OBE interaction. Essential features observed in (K−, π−) reaction experiments are successfully reproduced. Spin-orbit splittings for Λ, Σ and nucleon are discussed in the light of the underlying interaction and relevant many-body effects.
