Abstract

Resistivity, magnetoresistivity, magnetisation, and thermoelectric power of several USb crystals, grown with resistivity ratio RR= ρ(300 K)/ ρ(4.2 K) ranging from 1.6 to 13, have been examined in the temperature range 30 mK–300 K and in magnetic fields up to 14 T. Minimum of the resistivity between 8 and 14 K and maximum of the thermoelectric power at ca. 40 K, both dependent on the RR value, have been observed. Similarity of the observed behaviour to that specific for paramagnetic Kondo impurity system is pointed out.
