Abstract
Work on single-frequency tunable-wavelength semiconductor lasers with an external cavity based on fiber Bragg gratings formed in a single-mode optical fiber is reported. Methods for discrete and continuous tuning of the emission wavelength are considered. The described lasers emit dynamically stable radiation with a narrow linewidth (10 kHz) in the wavelength range of 635–1650 nm.
