Abstract

Translational energy spectra with vibrationally resolved states of NO + ( 1Σ +, v) formed in charge transfer collisions of He 2+ ( E(He 2+) = 70 eV) with NO were measured in a high-resolution scattering experiment. The observed population of the vibrational levels of NO + is close to that given by Franck—Condon factors derived from photoelectron spectroscopy.
