Abstract

The single-crystal EPR spectra of Fe(S2CNEt2)2Br diluted in As(S2CNEt2)2Br have been recorded at liquid–helium temperature. They display a typical rhombic pattern with g′X =3.07(2), gY =5.08(2), g′Z =1.95(2) in agreement with a ground Kramers doblet, ‖±〉≂‖S=3/2, MS =±1/2〉. The signals exhibit ligand hyperfine structure from the79,81 Br ions. Due to the overlapping of four, symmetry related signals, only a partial analysis of this hyperfine tensor was achieved. It was found that the ligand A-tensor anisotropy is not pronounced and that the magnitudes of the three principal components lie in the range 80–100×10−4 cm−1.
