Abstract

Single crystal electron paramagnetic resonance of Ni(II) doped hexaimidazole zinc(II)dichloride tetrahydrate has been studied at room temperature. The material exhibited rhombic g and D tensors. The spin Hamiltonian parameters obtained from single crystal rotations are g 11=2.3691, g 22=2.2105, g 33=1.9409 and D 11=244.07, D 22=24.98, D 33=−269.05 mT. It has been inferred that Ni(II) replaces zinc(II) substitutionally.
