Abstract
We were aiming in obtaining information on the energy coupling in the proton translocating ATP synthase of chloroplasts (1). For this, the purified chloroplast ATP synthase (CF0CF1) was reconstituted into azolectin liposomes from which bilayer membranes on the tip of a glass pipette (“dip stick technique”) and planar bilayer membranes were formed. The chloroplast ATP synthase (CF0CF1) facilitated ion-conductance through the bilayer membranes.
