Abstract
The Introduction of electromagnetic distance-measuring equipment has brought many changes in the operations of the Geodetic Survey of Canada. Single-chain triangulation, consisting of a simple chain of triangles with all sides and all angles measured, has replaced conventional triangulation, consisting of a series of overlapping triangles arranged in braced quadrilaterals and center-point figures. This paper discusses single-chain triangulation as used by the Geodetic Survey of Canada.
