Abstract
The DIAMONDBACK 360® Coronary Orbital Atherectomy System (OAS) is a catheter-based system designed for optimising PCI results in calcified coronary artery lesions. Calcification of coronary arteries remains one of the last frontiers in interventional cardiology. Interventions in these lesions are consistently associated with increased adverse acute and chronic outcomes e.g. Death, MI and TVR. These are attributed to failed stent delivery, stent malapposition, vessel dissection, stent thrombosis and in-stent restenosis.
