Abstract

A single capacitor with embedded current amplifier compensation (SCECAC) for three-stage amplifier with large capacitive loads is proposed in this paper. With the current amplifier embedded in the first stage, the capability of driving capacitive load is significantly improved while the compensation capacitor required is greatly reduced. The SCECAC amplifier is simulated in a SMIC 0.13μm CMOS process. When driving a InF load, the SCECAC amplifier achieves 6.2MHz gain-bandwidth product by dissipating 45.6μmW power at 1.2V supply and using total compensation capacitor of only 0.3pF.
