Abstract
This paper discusses the detailed effect of the vehicle-to-grid V2G system on terminal voltages and the active power regulation in a single area power system. In addition, the effect of plug-in electric vehicle (EVs) is studied on the system frequency. A single area power system is used to measure the effectiveness of the proposed V2G scheme. A comparison between the system with and without proposed V2G schemes is carried out showing the positive effect of the presence of the V2G schemes on system frequency, terminal voltage and the active power. MATLAB /SIMULINK software package is used as a test environment.
