Abstract

AbstractA facile substrate surface silane‐grafting approach was demonstrated to enhance both interfacial adhesion and pervaporation separation performance of PDMS composite membrane. With C16 grafted ceramic substrate, the PDMS/ceramic composite membrane exhibited up to 1.7 times stronger interfacial adhesion force between separation layer and substrate layer, meanwhile 1.5 times larger butanol/water separation factor that is higher than state‐of‐the‐art membranes. This novel approach paves a new avenue to developing composite membranes with high and stable separation performance.
