Abstract

A simple polarization technique for separate measurement of absorption and phase gratings in photorefractive crystals, that allowed us to demonstrate experimental evidence of simultaneous recording in BTO crystal of all types of gratings (phase gratings constructed by electrons and holes, and absorption grating), is presented. The coupled wave theory expanded for the anisotropic case of optical active crystals is used to interpret experimental results.
