Abstract

This paper addresses a simultaneous design optimization of the structure and actuator locations for a plate model of high precision space antenna to correct specific and multiple surface error modes. The design procedure for the correction of multiple error modes was formulated, where a residual surface error vector was introduced to evaluate the contribution of each error mode, which is required to correct specific error mode. A constraint parameter for the actuator location was proposed to improve the performance of the optimization. The results of the optimization indicated that the proposed constraint parameter as well as the simultaneous optimization of the structure and actuator improve the performance of optimization.
